Hoopers Farmhouse is a charming, characterful cottage praised for its idyllic setting and warm hospitality. Guests relish the traditional features, cosy atmosphere, and pet-friendly environment. The property is appreciated for its tranquillity, with the presence of ducks and horses adding to the rural experience. While some mention the quirks of an old property, such as low beams and firm beds, the overall sentiment is one of a delightful, relaxing retreat.
There is insufficient information in the reviews to accurately assess the cleanliness of the property, as no specific comments were made regarding this aspect.
The location is highly regarded for its beauty and proximity to local attractions like Salisbury and Stonehenge. The peaceful village setting and the presence of a nearby shop contribute to the positive feedback.
The cottage is frequently described as comfortable and relaxing, with a cosy bed and a warm atmosphere. However, some guests noted firm beds and low beams, which could affect comfort for taller individuals or those preferring softer mattresses.
Facilities are generally appreciated, with mentions of a secure garden for dogs, a well-equipped kitchen, and a good shower. The traditional nature of the cottage means some modern amenities may be lacking, and the property's age could impact maintenance perceptions.
While guests express gratitude for the host's warm welcome and helpfulness, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category. It should be noted that such gestures, if provided, are not guaranteed.

The cottage was very charming and had lovely character. It was exactly what we wanted for our Christmas break, and was well equipped. There were just a couple of things to make people aware of. The beds in one of the bedrooms were extremely firm and were like sleeping on a board 😢 thankfully the double bed in the other room was comfortable, but if there are more than two of you this is definitely something to bear in mind. Also, as it is an old cottage, there are very low beams, which are difficult for anyone taller than about 5’7”. However, we still had a good time and a special Christmas break. Gillian was a lovely host and very helpful.

Perfect break for us at Hoopers farm. Warm welcome, beautiful setting, delightful cottage, sweet duck neighbours, and best ever host/owner Gillian! 💜 Quaint, old worldy, quirky, and comforting. Like going on holiday to a dreamy past!In the interest of being helpful to both Gillian and visitors, it’s worth mentioning that if you want everything at the touch of a button, and expect modern perfection, it’s not for you. This relaxing gem of a place is for those who want to hear the ducks, smell the honeysuckle, and see horses from the windows. You can’t go to a stunning 600 year old cottage on a working farm and complain about the low beams, creaky stairs, little spiders, and slightly uneven floors. We think all of that makes it even more wonderful! We left feeling younger and healthier than we have for the last 10 years! For people who appreciate and embrace what it is, - it’s absolute heaven! We can’t wait to go back 😊💜😊
