Reviews frequently mention comfortable furnishings, cosy atmosphere, and high-quality beds and bathrooms. A minor point was raised about the kitchen underfloor heating not working during one stay, but overall comfort is rated very highly.
The cottage is described as well-equipped, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. Some guests noted the absence of a microwave, wardrobe in one bedroom, and a few kitchen items, as well as a non-functioning underfloor heating system and lack of outside lighting at the back. Many guests appreciated the welcome hamper and thoughtful touches throughout the cottage. However, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay. Some guests mentioned the welcome pack quality varied, and a lack of toiletries was noted by one reviewer.
Bluebell Cottage is a late 18th century thatched cottage set in a small hamlet on the edge of a picturesque Wiltshire village. Nestled between Salisbury Plain and the Vale of Pewsey, this is a perfect location from which to explore the tranquil surroundings of the North Wessex Downs.
The beautifully renovated cottage is set in an enchanting garden teeming with roses and wisteria. Inglenook fireplaces, exposed beams and polished wooden floors are the backdrop to a charming home that is spacious, welcoming and beautifully furnished. Antiques mix with the contemporary furniture to create a setting that is relaxed, comfortable and stylish. This dual aspect cottage, with views over the open fields to the woods beyond, is bright and laid out with a spacious sitting room with a wood burning stove, a large dining room with an inglenook fireplace and several quiet areas, perfect for relaxing with a good book. The fully equipped kitchen comes with a Rangemaster stove, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and drinks fridge.
Upstairs are two large comparable bedrooms; one with a spacious en-suite shower room, the other with a creatively designed en-suite bathroom with a free-standing roll top bath and separate walk-in shower. The beds are hand-made in England and the linens are the finest cottons with natural feather duvets and pillows.
Outside, the south and east facing terrace is perfect for an early morning breakfast in the sunshine; whilst the terrace at the front of the house is an ideal tranquil setting to enjoy the evening sunsets across the fields opposite. Within walking distance of Bluebell Cottage is The Lamb, offering good food and local ales, whilst the farm shop is just a short stroll across the fields on public footpaths, just behind the cottage. A multitude of glorious walks along footpaths and through woods are steps away, and a little further afield are the iconic Wiltshire white horses carved into the nearby hillsides. The nearest ones are the Devizes white horse, created in 1999 for the Millennium, and the Marlborough white horse created in 1804. Bath, Salisbury and many nearby market towns are all within easy reach.

Everything in the cottage is excellent and super clean. We loved the walk-in showers, fireplace and comfy chairs in sitting room, well-stocked utensils in the kitchen. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The village folks are very friendly. All-in-all, we highly recommend Bluebell Cottage.

A lovely cottage, well equipped (although a microwave would be useful). Beds very comfortable and floor levels 'interesting'! An interesting area of the country with plenty of history close by.
