Valley View is situated on the Essex/Suffolk border in the village of Mount Bures․ Valley View takes its name from the from the spectacular views over the Stour Valley․ It is a beautifully refurbished, four bedroom, semi-detached property finished to a very high standard․ There is parking for four cars․ The property is ideal for a group getaway or a family holiday. The contemporary living area makes it an ideal social hub for your stay. Mount Bures takes its name from the Motte & Bailey dating back to the Norman Conquest period and situated alongside the historic St John’s Church․ Plenty of footpaths, including the Suffolk Way, allow for exploration and possibly a stop off at the local pub (within walking distance of Valley View) with excellent food and more spectacular views. Bures St Mary village has a couple of local shops and pubs and events on the green by the river․ St Stephen’s Chapel (the oldest building in Bures) is well worth a visit. From there you can see the “Bures Dragon”. The location is ideal for exploring Colchester (Britains oldest recorded town) which is only 9 miles away․ There you can visit the Castle, museums and the very popular award winning zoo. Sudbury (suffolk) a market town is 7 miles away, the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, the popular market is on Thursday․ Canoes and cycles can be hired to explore the local area. There are many other places to visit including Long Melford, known for it’s antique shops and Dedham Vale (AONB) Constables Country. For railway enthusiasts The East Anglian Railway Museum is a mere 5 minute drive․ The Victorian buildings host a number of events including Thomas the Tank Engine Days․ The branch line from Sudbury stopping at Bures, Chappel and Marks Tey allows for easy access to the main line where you can jump on a train and be in London in 50 minutes. Slightly further afield (approx 1 hour 15 mins) by car is Thetford Forest and in the other direction the beautiful Suffolk Coast. After a busy day spend a relaxing time in the hot tub with wonderful views, a glass of wine and plan your next day's adventure!
