Boxford is a Suffolk town steeped in history and home to the oldest shop in England and a garage which claims to be the oldest garage in Europe. There is a selection of independent shops with a general store, coffee shop and three excellent pubs to choose from. The area is a popular one for cyclists with the official Cycle route passing through and a very active cycling club and a wonderful base for walkers to explore the endless network of footpaths.

We feel so comfortable here we just chill and relax for a week and don't bother touring around anymore.Val leaves a wonderful welcome pack and the people and the 2 (soon to be 3)dog friendly pubs could'nt be more welcoming.

A few very minor niggles - firmer pillows would have been lovely, as they were a little too soft and a brief idea of what could be recycled for instance our local council accepts bottles and has a food bin, but we couldnât find any mention of this, so assumed not. However, this was far outweighed by the goodies left for us by the owner. Lovely area, very friendly locals and 3 pubs within walking distance as well as many different dog walks. Would happily stay again.

The king-size bed was the most comfortable we had ever slept in. There is ample seating for two and comfortable seats in the conservatory. We loved seeing the view of the church spire lit up at night and we had clear starry nights as well. The garden is a good size and safely enclosed. There is also a quiet parking place off the main street which does require some careful but not difficult manoeuvring, but is welcome in a village where parking spaces are rare. Boxford is a delightful village full of history. The people are friendly and it has great pubs, coffee shops and village stores. This cottage was a wonderful place to stay.
