The garden and playroom were highlights, especially for children. Despite some minor maintenance issues and a lack of certain kitchen items, the cottage's warmth, comfort, and local countryside walks were appreciated. It is well-recommended for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

The property is generally well-kept, though some guests noted the presence of dead insects in certain areas. This suggests room for improvement in thoroughness, but overall cleanliness seems to be of a good standard.

There is not enough information provided in the reviews to accurately score the location. No specific comments about the location's convenience, scenery, or accessibility were mentioned.

Guests found the cottage to be warm and comfortable, with a layout perfect for both adults and children. The presence of toys and games also contributed to the overall comfort and enjoyment.

The property is well-equipped for a holiday stay, with a special mention of the playroom for kids. However, some guests noted a lack of kitchen items and faulty blinds, indicating that some facilities could benefit from attention.

While guests have not mentioned specific gifts, the provision of toys, games, and a playroom suggests a thoughtful approach to accommodating families with children. However, without explicit references to gifts, a score cannot be provided.

About this property

Foxhole Cottage is a beautifully refurbished cottage with a large spacious garden, set in the idyllic rural location of Framsden, Framlingham. Sleeping up to eight adults and two children, it is a perfect option for families and friends looking to get together and enjoy what the area has to offer.

The tranquil location means that birdsong fills the house in the spring and summer months. In the winter, enjoy a walk around Framlingham Castle and return to cottage to cook a home-cooked roast, light the wood-burning stove and settle in for the evening.

The ground floor comprises two comfortable sitting rooms with enough space to accommodate all guests; both have bi-fold doors leading directly into the surrounding gardens. The open kitchen/dining/sitting room is well-equipped with everything one could need to prepare meals and enjoy them around the large dining table. Further double bi-fold doors lead directly onto the garden patio surrounded by trees and herbaceous borders. An outdoor table and chairs rest beneath a rose-laden pergola; perfect for enjoying a star gazing evening or al fresco dinner. The snug/office room with sofa and desk offers an opportunity for quietude, study or work; storage here has been cleverly transformed into a cellar to ensure there's enough cool provisions for celebrations. The boot /utility room and family shower room complete the ground floor.

The first-floor accommodation is unique in that one end of the property (accessed via the snug/office) comprises a double bedroom with a little more privacy from the main house. While, to the opposite end, via the main entrance hallway there is a super-king master bedroom and two further double bedrooms (one with en-suite bathroom). This setting means Foxhole Cottage is perfect for families/friends to sleep independently at either end of the house.

Stepping outside there is a large lawn garden with wildflower borders, plenty of well-established and younger trees. The patio is laden with roses and the house itself is surrounded by numerous flower beds and well-established borders, vines and wisteria. Vast lawns with a see-saw and two ponds mean there is ample space to explore, rest, play and enjoy.

This property is also available for a larger group as a sleeps 12 option, Foxhole Cottage, or a smaller group as a sleeps 8 option: Foxhill Cottage (8).

A beautiful stay in a peaceful location for a Christmas get together. We particularly enjoyed the many social seating areas which allowed for a group catch up. Just a short 15 minute walk to the pub and plenty of walking routes around the area. The interior of the property was beautiful also. We will definitely be returning!
