Alexander House is a large, elegant, detached house, tucked away on a quiet private track in the quintessential holiday village of Thorpeness, which inspired J M Barrie’s Peter Pan. This idyllic house is just a short stroll down to the beautiful beach, and the Meare, both perfect for creating lifelong memories with the children! A fabulous choice for friends and family get-togethers.
This lovely farmhouse provides a wonderful base for exploring the stunning coastline of Suffolk. The open-plan ground floor provides a modern, light space to relax, wine, dine and entertain. The large kitchen is well equipped with a conventional aga range cooker, large American style fridge freezer and dishwasher. French doors open directly to the surrounding garden with outdoor table and chairs. There’s plenty of sofas for everyone to kick back in, and a widescreen Sky TV for all to enjoy. The second sitting room has the added benefit of a wood burning stove, and a further television. There’s a ground floor twin bedroom and shower room, perfect for those who struggle with stairs.
To the first floor, there are two bedrooms; one twin, and one super-king room with en-suite bathroom. There is also a family bathroom.
Outside there is a large enclosed garden, great for dogs, which backs onto the practice range for Thorpeness Golf Club. There is parking for up to five cars.
The pretty Victorian seaside town of Aldeburgh is only a short drive away or if you feel like some exercise it is a lovely walk along the beach, past Maggi Hambling's famous scallop sculpture.
Alexander House is also available as a sleeps four option: Alexander House (4), with some bedrooms locked. This option is only available in the quieter periods outside of school holidays. A higher occupancy option that sleeps 13 is also available all year round: Alexander House.

Fantastic location, and a beautiful house. Lots of room for us and our small dog. Ideal having the boot room to wipe paws after a run on the beach , and the garden was large and fully enclosed. Everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need. Situated at the end of a short track it was less than a 5 minute walk to either the pub, the mere or the beach. We had a brilliant comfortable stay, and will definitely be returning.

Alexander house was the most perfect home from home. Amazing location, quiet and spacious. The house is beautiful with the perfect layout for a family gathering. The kitchen is fitted out with everything you could possibly need. The bedrooms are lovely and very comfortable beds. The garden has family size bbq and adequate seating. Walking distance to beach, pub and Thorpeness kitchen which serves great breakfasts. Will definitely book another stay there.

What a lovely well appointed property. Spacious and well equipped. Grandchildren very much enjoyed the garden which is enclosed and safe. Its location within Thorpness is perfect as everywhere accessible on foot. There were just five in our party but I could imagine much larger parties would be equally comfortable. The additional small sitting room adjacent to ground floor bedroom turned out to be a bonus. We will be back!
