For a taste of Suffolk’s cultural side, head to Snape Maltings (8 miles), where independent shops, galleries and year-round events provide plenty to see and do. Nature lovers can make the 7-mile trip to Rendlesham Forest, with scenic walking and cycling trails winding through ancient woodland. The popular coastal town of Aldeburgh is 11 miles away and well worth a visit, with its shingle beach, boutique shops and excellent seafood.
