The Gun Room has been thoughtfully designed as a cosy base from which to explore the beautiful Waveney Valley. It offers a comfortable place to sleep in a stunning four-poster king-size bed, refresh, and enjoy a simple breakfast before heading out for the day. To make mornings a little easier, we've included a compact kitchenette with the essentials for preparing light meals and drinks. Following previous guest feedback, we've also added a table and two chairs. The half-moon table folds out to provide a larger dining space when needed.

Outside, off-road parking for two cars ensures easy access, while the surrounding countryside invites gentle walks and opportunities for wildlife spotting. The location offers the best of both relaxation and adventure. Nearby Beccles charms with its riverside walks, independent shops, and inviting cafés and restaurants.

A short drive away, Southwold awaits with sandy beaches, a traditional pier, and a thriving arts scene. For culture and history, Norwich boasts a magnificent cathedral, historic castle, and vibrant shopping streets, while the waterways of the Norfolk Broads offer scenic boat trips and peaceful riverside strolls. Whether you’re seeking peace and quiet or days filled with exploration, The Gun Room provides a comfortable and welcoming base for discovering Norfolk and Suffolk.

Note: The Gun Room can be booked alongside Winston Lodge and Winston Hall Farm. When combined, all three properties can accommodate up to 32 guests, making them ideal for large-scale celebrations, parties, or unforgettable group escapes.

The historic market town of Beccles has excellent amenities, with unique shops, many of which are independent retailers and the range of restaurants and dining facilities are impressive, with numerous cafes, tea rooms and traditional inns. There are also a number of interesting buildings, including the Town Hall and Quaker Hall, which houses the weekly country farmers' market. The more active visitor may wish to explore the town and surrounding area via the Beccles Marsh Trail, which is divided into three walks of varying distance and character. With an outdoor swimming pool and various play areas, children are well catered for, whilst cyclists can enjoy a number of cycle routes around the town. Beccles is surrounded by open countryside, whilst an easy drive brings you to the popular Suffolk coast and the seaside resorts of Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth and Southwold.
