Just 500 yards from the glorious sand duned beach at Kessingland, a traditional seaside village on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, this delightful brick and flint cottage with its private sunny patio and garden is tucked away in the grounds of the owners’ home. Ideal for a family seaside holiday or just a haven to unwind and relax whatever the season. Only 4 miles away is the popular resort of Lowestoft which offers traditional seaside entertainment and both Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park and Africa Alive are within a short drive. Southwold with its pier and summer theatre, Dunwich Heath and beach, rspb Minsmere, Aldeburgh with its fishing boats and local seafood and Snape Maltings Concert Hall are all easily accessible as are the lovely Norfolk Broads. Shop 0.5 miles and pub 500 yards.

Shrimp cottage was perfect for us and our cockapoo Reggie. Very close to a dog friendly beach and a good fish and chip shop. Very clean and comfortable, nice artwork and few quirky ornaments. The enclosed garden was safe for Reggie. We hope to book again. Thank you Richard and Penny.

The cottage is at the end of the owner's garden and quite private and quiet with an allocated parking space.It's lovely and characterful inside and has a well equipped kitchen. However, the cutlery is old and mismatched and there isn't much of it so it runs out in-between dishwasher cycles.The 2 sofas have seen better days and are well worn and uncomfortable, this spoilt the evenings for us as we didn't feel relaxed.One of the photos on the listing is misleading as it suggests a sea view but there is only a garden view and the sea is five minutes walk away.However, we enjoyed evening walks on the beach and along the beach path and it was very peaceful with lots of walks for anyone bringing a dog.Kessingland is a quiet village and a good base for visiting the wider area but The Waterfront seafood restaurant wasn't open in the evenings which was disappointing. However, The Sailors Home pub offers meals.
