Just 500 yards from the glorious sand duned beach at Kessingland, a traditional seaside village on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, this delightful brick and flint cottage with its private sunny patio and garden is tucked away in the grounds of the owners’ home. Ideal for a family seaside holiday or just a haven to unwind and relax whatever the season. Only 4 miles away is the popular resort of Lowestoft which offers traditional seaside entertainment and both Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park and Africa Alive are within a short drive. Southwold with its pier and summer theatre, Dunwich Heath and beach, rspb Minsmere, Aldeburgh with its fishing boats and local seafood and Snape Maltings Concert Hall are all easily accessible as are the lovely Norfolk Broads. Shop 0.5 miles and pub 500 yards.

Our umpteenth visit!Beautiful seaside themed cottage. Two generous bedrooms and lovely bathroomSpacious living/dining area with separate kitchen. Gated garden & parking space. Located with easy walking distance of the beach & pub and small village shop over the road. Kessingland is a quiet village with bigger supermarkets a short drive away. Fabulously located for the delights of Suffolk including Southwold, Aldeburgh & Snape Maltings. We’ve visited many times and will book again for next summer. Our happy place.

Shrimp Cottage was spotlessly clean and there was plenty of hot water. We found the beds uncomfortable but think that is a personal matter as everyone's preferences are different. Some more saucepans would be useful for those that cook a lot. The sofa's and dining chairs have seen better days and would benefit from an update. The garden is fully enclosed, very private and perfect for dogs (as is the whole cottage), The photograph titled Shrimp Cottage View is somewhat misleading as that view is some 200m down the road but the others are a fair representation. Local amenities are very good and Carol in the Beach Hut is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Off road parking is a big plus and we easily got a Discovery in the parking space allocated

We have just come back from a lovely week at Shrimp Cottage. The owners were friendly and welcoming - there was a short power cut one evening and they came to check on us which was thoughtful - but otherwise they left us to it which we appreciated. Although the cottage is in their grounds, it's still quite private. It is small but was the perfect size for us as a family of three, and had pretty much everything we needed. Do be aware of the driveway though - it's very narrow! We managed to navigate it carefully in our Kia Sportage, but only just! Otherwise the location is great, only a few minutes walk to a sand and shingle beach, which was never really busy even though it was half term and the weather was absolutely glorious. We loved it here and would recommend for a quiet break away from the hustle and bustle.
