About this property

Occupying a sought-after location in the heart of the delightful coastal town of Southwold in Suffolk, Sweet Pea offers immaculately presented accommodation, ideal for a family or couples travelling together. The open-plan layout lends itself to a truly sociable space and is just perfect for the family to gather and enjoy lots of quality holiday time together. There is an inviting seating area, an elegant dining area with an attractive rustic dining table designed for sociable family meals together and a fully fitted kitchen equipped with everything that is needed to create some delicious food for the whole family. A patio door leads outside onto the south-facing terrace where you can enjoy time drinking and dining alfresco on the outdoor table and benches. A highly convenient playground runs alongside the property and is ideal for tiring out the little ones in the family! Hopefully all that fresh air will have tired everyone out, so guests can choose from a sumptuously appointed king-size bedroom or a stylish twin. A family bathroom completes the accommodation. Waking up in the morning is a joy at Sweet Pea, so after breakfast or a quick coffee on the patio, it’s time to pack a bag and head out for the day. There is so much to see and do in around the house, it can be hard to know where to begin. Take a stroll into Southwold which has a good selection of shops and amenities as well as a pier and a lighthouse, and also within walking distance is the charming village of Walberswick, which has a couple of lovely traditional pubs. A little further away are attractions such as RSPB Minsmere, Snape Maltings, home to Aldeburgh Music Festival, Halesworth Museum, Adnams Brewery, Melford Hall and Go Ape Thetford. Sweet Pea has all the ingredients for a delightful family holiday.

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, rspb Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

Slightly annoying when the family packed thinking we could easily wash & dry a change of clothes. Raised with Best Of Suffolk during our stay and no reply.

We could not find the visitors book. We had dinner each of our 3 night in the local restaurants recommended in the information folder. The Swan and Crown were very good for food, service and all round hospitality. The Sutherland was very disappointing. The food was not freshly cooked, service very quick, giving the sense that it was organised to suit the staff and not the customer. The bathroom light may need to be replaced as it was constantly flickering. We really enjoyed our stay in Sweet Pea and plan to return. Southwold is a lovely place to visit and explore.
