Garden Barn is a beautifully appointed cottage in rural Shropshire, praised for its stunning countryside views, peaceful setting, and well-equipped, comfortable interiors. Guests consistently highlight the friendly and accommodating hosts, especially towards dog owners. The property is ideal for relaxation and exploring local attractions. While the access road is rough and there are occasional maintenance comments, the positives far outweigh the negatives, making it a highly recommended retreat for families, couples, and pet owners seeking a tranquil getaway.
Most guests found the cottage very clean and well maintained, with spotless bedding and bathrooms. A few mentioned dust or cobwebs in corners, but these were exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is widely praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions. Some guests found it a little remote and noted the rough access road, but most appreciated the peaceful rural setting.
The cottage is described as extremely comfortable, with cosy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and a relaxing atmosphere. Occasional comments about sofas needing updating were rare and did not detract from overall comfort.
Facilities are highly rated, with guests noting the well-equipped kitchen, woodburner, WiFi, garden, and fishing lake. Some minor maintenance issues and the rough driveway were mentioned, but overall satisfaction is very high.
Guests frequently mention the hosts' friendliness and helpfulness, including thoughtful touches like festive decorations and extra dog towels. While some wished for a welcome pack, gifts or extras are not guaranteed and should not be expected.
A lovely, stone-built, detached cottage decorated and furnished in a traditional country style, boasting a wealth of original beams and trusses, and a lovely patio area with views over the owner's large pond (with resident swans) and surrounding countryside.
The small village of Billingsley is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and is only seven miles from Bridgnorth. The area offers excellent walking and cycling routes, as well as boasting easy access to country parks, great houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages. Everything we needed was there including basics eg hand soap, toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets. Plenty of cutlery and crockery too so we didnât need to run the dishwasher very often. Really enjoyed sitting on the balcony at meal times and in the evening watching the wildlife: deer, badger, rabbits, house martins. Plenty of places of interest to visit and forests to walk in. Would return here if we are visiting the area again.

It had everything we needed and more. Beautiful countryside views, the added bonus was seeing the race horses being exercised. Great location for exploring the local and wider area.
Gillian
Stunning countryside views. Well placed for lots of good places to visit, many places of interest a short drive away.
