Guests say

Hill Brow is a charming and rustic cottage in Shropshire, praised for its peaceful garden, stunning views, and wildlife. Guests appreciate its homely feel, character, and ideal location for nature lovers and walkers. The property is well-equipped and offers a cosy atmosphere with a log burner, though some noted it can be chilly. The thoughtful touches by the owners, including bird food and occasional gifts, add to the welcoming experience.

Most guests found Hill Brow clean and comfortable, with only a few remarks about certain areas needing more attention. The majority of reviews did not raise cleanliness as an issue, suggesting a high standard overall.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to walking paths and nature. It is described as remote and peaceful, ideal for a countryside retreat, with easy access to nearby towns.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with a lived-in feel and cosy log burner. Some mentioned the property can be cold, but additional heaters and throws are provided. The beds are comfortable, contributing to the overall comfort.

The cottage is well-equipped for a self-catering holiday, with a well-appointed kitchen and comfortable living areas. However, some guests noted the absence of central heating and issues with the conservatory roof leaking, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.

The owners' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with personal touches like homemade bird food and occasional gifts such as prosecco and chocolates. While these gestures are warmly received, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed with every stay.

The property is quirky, but we enjoyed every minute there The property is detached, very private and in a beautiful location, with a good size garden surrounding it Easy parking; good wifi; mobile signal; smart tv; comfortable beds; plenty of space; well located for visiting the best of south shropshire It was the perfect summer time cottage for us and the dog

It's clearly well-loved and the energy is palpable and wraps its arms around you to give you a hug - that's how it feels. It's so wonderful watching a variety of birds feeding in the tranquil garden (and trying to work out how to outwit the thieving squirrels). There are hares in the nearby meadows and the chance to see sheep being herded from field to field along the road, plus there's fresh milk and cheese from grass fed cows for sale only a short walk away. It feels like another world, far from the cares and distractions of modern living. We have already booked to return.

Seats and beds were comfortable (although my personal preference is for much firmer pillows - but you cannot accommodate every preference). The garden was beautiful and birdlife was abundant (another reason that we chose the property)
