Fern Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and stunning views. Guests appreciate the well-maintained and stylish accommodation, with a contemporary design that caters well to both families and pets. The owner, Mike, is commended for his helpfulness and attentiveness. The property's location offers a tranquil retreat with easy access to local amenities and attractions.
Reviewers consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as very clean, well maintained, and comfortable, indicating a high level of cleanliness.
The location is celebrated for its seclusion, amazing views, and proximity to local towns. The views across the Cheshire Plain and accessibility to nearby attractions contribute to a high score.
Comfort is a recurring theme, with guests finding the cottage cosy, stylish, and comfortable. The presence of a stair gate for children and the property's dog-friendly nature also reflect a comfortable stay.
Facilities are well-regarded, with the cottage being well-equipped and contemporary. The lack of outdoor furniture is noted, but this is seen as a minor issue against the overall high standard.
While the reviews reflect a thoughtful approach by the owner, there is no mention of gifts or specific thoughtful gestures that would warrant a score in this category.

Areas of Exceptional Natural Beauty surround Biddulph, which is tucked away in a valley that is awash with greenery. The pride of the town, which takes the moniker "The Garden Town of Staffordshire," is the display of flowers that bloom there from early spring until late October. Visitors have a wide variety of things to do, including the excellent Little Moreton Hall, which is 4 miles distant, and the National Trust-owned Biddulph Grange, whose renowned gardens were created by James Bateman and feature Egyptian temples, oriental pergolas, and Scottish glens. Due to its proximity to the Peak District National Park and two lovely local parks, this town is highly well-liked by walkers and hikers. The distance between Alton Towers and the famed Jodrell Bank Observatory, home of the Lovell Telescope, is only 22 miles. The Staffordshire Moorlands, Derbyshire, and the Pennines are all easily accessible. For a day trip, consider going to Chester, Liverpool, or Manchester, which are all nearby and can all be reached in around an hour and a half by car. In easy access of surrounding facilities and was a great base for us to visit family living close by over Xmas. Mike, the owner, is on hand should you need any help and it is obvious that he puts a lot of love into maintaining the cottage both inside and out. We have a very nervous collie dog who absolutely loved the peace and quiet of the paddock just on the doorstep. A great place that we hope to visit again in the near future.

Comfortable, clean and quiet. Great views to the west. In fact we visited Jodrell Bank on our visit and then realised itâs visible on a clear day. Recommend Jodrell Bank for all ages. The Potteries Museum in Stoke was interesting and has a real Spitfire. If you are into aviation the visitor centre next to Manchester Airports runway is a must. Obviously loads of walks and other things to do. Make sure your car is in good condition lots of long climbs. Also beware of all the cameras and pot holes. All the people of Staffordshire from visitor locations to supermarkets we found were very friendly and helpful. My brother and I both said weâd had a good break.

It is decorated to a very high standard affording a very stylish and comfortable place to stay. The internal images really donât do the cottage justice. The cottage itself is a true tranquil and stunning retreat, with probably one of the best vistas of the cheshire plains and Staffordshire moorlands you can get, and you can take it all in from ur very own private patio - the sunsets seen from the patio are absolutely stunning. The only drawback was that there was no outdoor furniture on the patio, Iâm sure the owner who was also a great host will remedy that in the near future. Thanks for a wonderful stay
