About this property
A superb, Grade II listed stone-built property, situated in a delightful position in the rural village of Ipstones, on the western edge of the National Park. This exceptional property has been skilfully created from the conversion of a lovely old barn to provide spacious accommodation of a very high standard. Care has been taken to retain much of the original charm and character of the property including solid old beams and exposed stone. The accommodation is upside down to take advantage of the light and the barn's splendid natural features. The magnificent sitting room has a vaulted, beamed ceiling which is open to the eaves, while the second sitting room features a double bed, so you can relax with a good film. A rather special base for a relaxing holiday at any time of the year.
Located on the western fringes of the Peak District in spectacular moorland countryside, the attractive village of Ipstones sits between the market towns of Leek and Ashbourne. With a post office, village shop and pubs serving food, this little settlement is a well-served base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. The impressive scenery is excellent for walking and cycling and offers miles of woodland trails and moorland hikes for all levels of ability. Dovedale and the limestone Churnet Valley are within easy driving distance, as is the Manifold Trail. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park are also very close by. For those looking for a more thrill-filled holiday, the Alton Towers Theme Park is within easy reach and makes a great trip out for all the family.

It offers every comfort needed. I have never stayed in a property that was so well equipped in the kitchen and crockery wise. I was so surprised to find a stick blender, it saved me having to cancel my curry cooking. Mrs Humphreyâs is an excellent and knowledgeable host. Also the area is excellent for walking and sightseeing. Would recommend this property to anyone. This is our second visit and will probably go again.

Lovely place, really nice huge traditional cottage with everything required. Living room has four sofas and is huge, another sofa in the landing / dining area. Heating works efficiently, showers nice and garden lovely. Everything very comfy and nice. In particular for us, a very secure garden for our dogs with parking within accessed by double gate. Location is great, on the edge of the Peak district and village has three pubs, a shop and a butchers.

The owner greeted us and was very friendly but provided us peace and privacy throughout the stay. All the bedrooms were ensuite downstairs which was such a treat, the living room was so spacious and cosy at the same time and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly want. Such a beautiful place and we can't wait to book again and come back.
