We have just a great weekend celebrating my husband`s 80th birthday with our sons and grandchildren. The Stables are amazing with lots of space and amenities. The games room came in handy with everyone joining in playing pool and darts. I would definitely recommend it as its a fabulous place with Hornsea on the doorstep.

Inside the house was lovely and spacious but dusty with lots of fluff and hair under chair legs and sofa. The only equipment working in the games room was the pool table and dart board. The gardens were covered in weeds and overgrown but the grass did get cut halfway through the holiday but the weeds weren’t touched . The areas where you could sit or go in the hot tubs could have done with a good hose down and sweeping also all the outside furniture could have done with a wash down . To be fair like I said the house was lovely inside but it felt like we were in the middle of a scrap yard .

A fabulous lodge, really spacious and ideal for family gatherings. The kitchen is well equipped to be able to self cater and the games room brilliant. Hornsea beach is less than 10 mins drive away, Tesco’s is 5 mins drive away and the transpennie trail is a short distance from the lodge meaning you can bike into town in 15 mins. A few points that would make the property better - a full length mirror in the hall way as no rooms have one, the double en-suite and double with single beds could be zip line king beds which we would prefer and could then be made into twins on request which would make the property appeal to more people. We had an issue with flies due to the weather ( not sure what can be done about that ). We were a party of 12-75 years staying for a 50th birthday and we all had a fabulous time.
