Anchor Cottage in Cleethorpes is highly praised for its prime location, spaciousness, and thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the proximity to the beach and local amenities, the well-equipped and comfortable interiors, and the welcome packs. While there are minor concerns about mattress comfort and noise levels, the overall experience is very positive, with many looking forward to returning.
Most guests found the cottage to be exceptionally clean, with only one report of cleanliness not meeting expectations. This suggests that high standards are typically maintained, although there may be occasional lapses.
The cottage's location is consistently rated highly, being close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Its central yet peaceful setting is frequently mentioned as a highlight.
Comfort is generally well-regarded, with the property described as spacious and well-decorated. Some guests, however, found the beds uncomfortable and the property echoey, which slightly lowers the score.
While the reviews mention the property being well-equipped and having a thoughtful welcome pack, there is insufficient detail on the maintenance aspect to accurately score facilities and maintenance.
Guests frequently mention the welcome packs, which include treats for both humans and dogs, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Only problem was parking was a bit iffy but there's a car park just round the corner which is cheap. We managed to park outside and just left it there. Everythink was on the door step so didn't need to use our car. Just 2 minutes to walk to the beach. Loved the music room. Had a aliitle problem with the boiler. Got in touch with Steve and was sorted straight away. Good communication with the owner.

We should have been made aware of the disruptions upon booking. I had to clean the kitchen myself as there was food on the floor, beside the microwave and on the floor near the oven. I had to clean the bathroom mirrors as they had what looked like toothpaste splatters on them. The mattresses were terrible and need to be replaced. Stained bedding (throw in front bedroom) and upon stripping the beds yesterday to leave, we found all mattress protectors covered in hairs, human and dog. I do have photos and will gladly send them to you if necessary. The house is lovely but our issues ruined what we thought would be a nice relaxing break. The property needs an outside light in the garden, a hand rail or grab rail for the two steps up to the back bedroom and bathroom and I would suggest having step treads or carpet the stairs as the dark paint is not ideal as you easily miss your step and they are slippy for both humans and dogs. Upon leaving, whilst trying to find the dogs favourite ball, we pulled one of the sofas out and found lots of sweets and clumps of dust and leftover food remains on the floor. The front bedroom smelt of dogs and the chair in the corner is heavily stained and smells of dogs. I couldnât sleep in the bed as it was so uncomfortable so had to use what I could find to add layers to it so I couldnât feel the springs and just had a blanket over me. All in all, it wasnât what we had hoped for. We were overlooked by the builders and the machinery and work going on disturbed us for the whole week days of our stay which made us all feel uncomfortable.

The place is huge!! The music room is a really bonus which our 16 year old son lived in! Just a short stroll to the front, pubs and restaurants. Recommend the Old Vic pub near the pier! Parking could be a little tricky but we always managed to park somewhere. First time visiting Clerthorpes will definitely come back.x
