9 Gargrave Road is a traditional Yorkshire stone, mid-terrace cottage within the village of Broughton, which is home to a small cluster of cottages surrounded by meadow pastures. A stay at this hideaway means you are never too far from places to explore; nearby Broughton Sanctuary comprises of immensely beautiful landscapes, and the thriving market town of Skipton makes for a perfect day trip to its castle and picturesque canal.
Entered from the garden through the rear doors, you are greeted by the welcoming sitting room featuring exposed beams, comfortable seating, and electric wood burner. The delightful kitchen is well-equipped and offers a dining area seating five guests - perfect for planning holiday activities over a cooked breakfast or evening meal. Upstairs on the first floor, three bedrooms are available; a single bedroom with garden views, a pretty king-size bedroom, and a stunning master bedroom hosting a sumptuous super-king size bed. A family bathroom featuring bath with shower over, and a small desk on the landing, complete this floor.
Outside, enjoy the exquisite views from the seating in the cottage garden. And, as the perfect accompaniment, fire up the gas barbecue and dine al fresco. Take full advantage of what Broughton Sanctuary has to offer and wander down to The Bull for dinner to enjoy 15% off for up to six guests. Or try the complimentary breakfast at the Utopia bistro, nestled at the heart of Broughton Sanctuary, available each weekday morning, before spending the day exploring what this magnificent destination has to offer.
Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Broughton Sanctuary has been home to many production companies over the years, hosting numerous shoots throughout Broughton Hall and the magnificent grounds, including Emily, Gentleman Jack, Ridley Road and of course All Creatures Great and Small, as the home of Mrs Pumphrey and her infamous dog Tricki Woo. Rich with family history, Broughton Sanctuary's present owner, Roger Tempest is the 32nd generation. His sister, the cartoonist Annie Tempest, has used this childhood home as her inspiration for Country Life’s tongue-in-cheek humour, Tottering Hall, headed up by Dick and Daffy and their loyal black Labrador, Slobber.
The Sanctuary provides wonderful walks, cycling trails, wild swimming, sweat lodge, sauna, and access to the award winning Avalon Wellbeing Centre.
