Located on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales on the 3,000 acre Broughton Estate, Poverty Hill Barn is the perfect hideaway for relaxing with the whole family. This peaceful, modern barn conversion boasts exposed beams and panoramic views from every window, as well as a wood-fired hot tub. Guests can take full advantage of the scenic walks, wild swimming, and reconnecting with nature, all located less than ten minutes from from the fabulous Yorkshire Dales village of Skipton.

Sleeping seven guests, three out of four of Poverty Hill Barn's bedrooms are located on the ground floor with all four bedroom benefitting from en suite facilities. The master bedroom and bedroom three host super-king size beds, with a single bed offered by bedroom two. Upstairs, a further super-king bed is available in bedroom four, which also enjoys breath taking views. Also on the first floor, the light and airy open-plan living space comprises of a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and sitting room set beneath a canopy of exposed beams. Once you have spent the night in one of these bright and contemporary bedrooms, complete with luxury beds and soft furnishings, you will never want to leave this tranquil sanctuary of relaxation and wellbeing.

The outside space surrounding the barn is designed to be enjoyed throughout the year. The wood-fired hot tub is perfect for stargazing and soaking away the day. Set within the gravelled patio area, guests can also enjoy dining al fresco in the warmer months while absorbing the sights and sounds on the historic estate. Better still, leave the apron behind and wander down to The Bull to enjoy 15% of homemade locally sourced food and drink for up to six guests, or head to Utopia bistro to sample complementary breakfast every weekday morning, before spending the day exploring what this magnificent destination has to offer.

Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Broughton Sanctuary has been home to many production companies over the years, with Broughton Hall and the magnificent grounds featuring as the backdrop to many shoots, including Emily, Gentleman Jack, Ridley Road and of course All Creatures Great and Small, as the home of Mrs Pumphrey and her infamous dog Tricki Woo. Rich with family history, Broughton Sanctuary's present owner, Roger Tempest is the 32nd generation. His sister, the cartoonist Annie Tempest, has used this childhood home as her inspiration for Country Life’s tongue-in-cheek humour, Tottering Hall, headed up by Dick and Daffy and their loyal black Labrador, Slobber.

The Sanctuary provides wonderful walks, cycling trails, wild swimming, sweat lodge, sauna and access to the award winning Avalon Wellbeing Centre, home to an indoor swimming pool, steam rooms, PT Studio and sauna, all of which are available on request (please contact us for more information).

There is external cctv throughout Broughton Sanctuary and all the properties.

The nearest EV Charger is located in the car park next to the Utopia restaurant. This is not within the grounds of Poverty Hill Barn.
