Guests generally appreciate the peaceful, scenic location of Lovesome Cottage, enjoying the working farm setting and the hot tub with beautiful views. The hosts, Mary and John, are praised for their hospitality and helpfulness. While some guests mention issues with spiders and bed size, the overall experience is positive, with many looking forward to returning.
The cottage is described as very clean by several guests. However, some mention the presence of cobwebs and spiders, and one review notes a fly infestation, which suggests room for improvement in pest control.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, beautiful scenery, and proximity to local attractions. It's on a working farm, which adds to the charm for many visitors.
Comfort receives mixed reviews. While the cottage is often described as cosy and inviting, several guests find the bed too small, particularly for taller individuals, which affects the overall comfort level.
Facilities like the hot tub are a highlight, and the cottage is well-equipped according to guests. However, some guests mention a lack of certain amenities, such as an iron and adequate kitchen ventilation, which impacts the score.

Northallerton 3.5 miles. This beautiful detached cottage on the owners' working livestock and arable farm is situated close to the town of Northallerton in North Yorkshire. This cottage is ideal for a romantic break set in a secluded location but close enough to explore the surrounding area. There is one step up to the front door, where you step into a lovely open plan area which has a kitchen and dining area together with a comfortable double bed and sitting area. This room leads through to a separate sitting area with a two-seater settee and occasional chair, and a woodburner to use if the weather turns a little cold. Through the patio doors there is a peaceful garden where you will find a fantastic hot tub with the most magnificent views. There are two steps up to the hot tub and a convenient cloakroom with shower, basin and WC for you to use either before or after you have soaked away the pains of your many walks. The town of Northallerton is only a short drive away and there are two weekly markets as well as fabulous restaurants, tea rooms and shops. Further afield is the spa town of Harrogate, the historic city of York and the coastal resorts of Saltburn and Whitby. You can also explore the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Parks, both with plenty of places to visit.
Northallerton is a County town and administrative centre of North Yorkshire, located at the foot of a ridge dividing two river basin areas, the Wiske and the Cod Beck, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the Vale of York, between the Hambleton Hills and the Yorkshire Dales.
