A charming retreat for two or three, Wren Cottage is a snug getaway with a comfortable interior and pleasant rural surroundings. As you step inside you will immediately notice the character of the property through the exposed beamed ceiling, while the two sofas provide ample room for unwinding and the multi-fuel stove offers a gentle warmth to the room. A quaint dining table rests at one side, perfect for a romantic meal when you’re not taking advantage of the many restaurants and pubs in the area. Continue into the kitchen where you will find a host of appliances to assist you during your stay, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and even a dishwasher to make washing up a breeze! Follow the stairs to reach the light and airy double bedroom, tastefully decorated in neutral tones and housing a double bed and dressing table, while across the landing is the second single bedroom which looks out to a farm and then countryside beyond․ Then walk across the landing to a refreshing bathroom where you can choose between a bath and shower to prepare for the day. When the sun is shining, wander outside towards the natural scenery, where you can take a stroll along a footpath, or simply rest in the enclosed garden with a favourite drink in hand. The market town of Bedale is nearby and offers a good selection of independent shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs, a weekly market for picking up any local produce and the beautiful Heritage Trail, taking visitors on an easy-to-follow route around the historic buildings and landmarks in the town, including a 12th century church named as one of the finest in Britain. Hop on board the Wensleydale Railway and enjoy a relaxing trip through 16 miles of stunning Yorkshire countryside into the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Bolton Castle. Within easy reach are the market towns of Richmond, Barnard Castle, Leyburn and Hawes, each offering their own character, charm and range of activities, including spending a day at the beautiful Fountain’s and Jervaulx Abbey․ Aysgarth Falls also shouldnt be missed, a triple flight of waterfalls that featured in the well known film 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'. The traditional market town of Bedale rests in the district of Hambleton in North Yorkshire. The town has strong historical connections to the Domesday Book and its Georgian heritage is reflected in the elegant buildings that line the market streets. The cobbled square offers a wide variety of shops including some delicious local cheese shops, while there are also several restaurants, pubs, cafés and a 12th century church.
