The property is ideal for exploring Yorkshire and is dog-friendly, with wildlife often spotted nearby. Guests mention the owners are welcoming yet unobtrusive. While the kitchen shows some signs of wear and there is a lack of hangers, these are minor points in an otherwise excellent stay. A welcome pack is often provided, though this cannot be guaranteed.

Guests consistently describe the property as comfortable and homely, with no negative comments regarding cleanliness. The positive tone and absence of complaints suggest a high standard is maintained.

The location is frequently highlighted as peaceful and ideal for visiting nearby towns such as Thirsk, Helmsley, York, and Ripon. The tranquil setting and proximity to attractions are strong positives.

Reviewers repeatedly mention comfortable beds, a cosy living room, and a relaxing environment, indicating a high level of comfort throughout the property.

The cottage is described as spacious and well-equipped, with a secure garden and all essentials provided. Minor issues include a tired-looking kitchen, lack of egg cups, and no hangers in wardrobes, but these do not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Several guests mention a lovely welcome pack on arrival and thoughtful touches such as toiletries in the bathrooms. However, as gifts like welcome packs are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.

Aspen Grove Lodge is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Very spacious, superbly equipped, peaceful location with wildlife all around. Very comfy beds and a lovely welcome pack. Owners live next door but certainly not intrusive. We hope to return at some point.

Fantastic spacious cottage safe enclosed garden comfortable beds. Although the owners live next door you are left just enjoy your holiday. The only two things we could’ve done with were hangers there were none in the wardrobes so take your own, and the closest bar unfortunately is closed until later in 2026 but a small trip into Thirsk gives you lots of options for food and drink a perfect place to use as a base to explore Yorkshire. Definitely recommend.
