Nestled in the village of Arkendale, 5 miles from Knaresborough, there are a variety of countryside footpaths and bridlepaths on the doorstep of this lodge. Knaresborough is an ancient market and spa town on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales, overlooking the River Nidd, and is one of the prettiest towns in North Yorkshire. Enjoy a stroll along the river or hire a boat and row underneath the impressive Knaresborough Viaduct. Staveley Nature Reserve is nearby (3.5 miles) where the wetland habitat offers sightings of birds and otters. Visit the cathedral cities of Ripon (10 miles), and York (17 miles) where you can look forward to exploring the Shambles, a historic street with overhanging timber framed buildings filled with quaint shops, as well as the Gothic style Minster and the York Castle Museum. Step inside the circular front door and into this fantastic open plan space incorporating the lounge, dining area and kitchen.
