Perfect for exploration and dog walks, the woodland offers seasonal highlights like bluebells in spring and vibrant autumn colours.Access is free, though the terrain is steep, so sturdy footwear is recommended.

Parking is available nearby, and the site is easily reached from Ripon, Masham, and Harrogate. From your doorstep, explore the nearby market town of Masham, famous for its two traditional breweries, Theakston and Black Sheep, where you can take a tour and sample locally brewed ales. In Ripon, marvel at the breathtaking Ripon Cathedral, admire the floral displays at Spa Gardens, or enjoy a flutter at Ripon Racecourse. Set in gently rolling farmland, the town boasts a huge market square, where a Wednesday and Saturday market is held. There are lots of walks around the area, including a 10-mile walk along the Ure, arguably one of the best in the UK. The town boasts a good range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs and has become best known perhaps as the home of two breweries Theakstons of Old Peculiar fame and the Black Sheep Brewery, which now brews 11 million pints of beer a year! The popular towns of Ripon, Thirsk, Northallerton, Richmond and Harrogate are an easy drive away. With so much to see and do in the area, this is a great place for a holiday in all seasons
