Set at the head of Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Arngill Cottage was originally built as Muker’s Wesleyan Chapel in 1845, converted into cottages in the 1940’s and lovingly renovated over the last years, now offering a charming and well equipped character cottage. It has a stone flagged entrance hall, feature staircase curving to a balustrated landing on the first floor, solid oak floor boards, lime-washed walls, a large open plan living area with beamed ceiling, window seats, stone and lime rendered fireplace with wood-burning stove. The kitchen is stone flagged with vaulted ceiling, original, exposed beams and a hand crafted kitchen incorporating pine panelling from the original chapel. The cottage has gorgeous views over wild-flower meadows, Straw Beck flows right opposite the cottage. The historic landscape is rich in wildlife, rivers and waterfalls, ancient paths and tracks and an ideal base for a wide range of year round activities or just plain relaxing.

Lovely cottage. Well located. Looking in need of a face-lift. Sinks don't drain well. Some china and glassware chipped. Armchairs not very comfortable. Lovely overall feel but a bit tired when you start to cook and use the bathroom. Outside space minimal.

Arngill is a lovely spacious well equipped cottage with amazing views. The only negative I had was that there were a few areas where a little more attention to the cleaning as needed, such as the dresser in the kitchen was laden with dust you had to rinse the cups to use them. Also the cushion covers mats rugs and upholstery needed to be cleaned. Other than that I loved my stay , I've been to Muker several times and I love the village if I didn't live so far away I would go back
