Set within walking distance of Richmond town centre, this stone built, semi-detached property which is over 200 years old, provides the most comfortable accommodation. You can literally park up and travel everywhere on foot for the rest of your stay. Tastefully decorated to a very good standard with nods to character and charm, with two bedrooms, one of which is accessed on the ground floor, you are in for a relaxing stay. In the warmer weather you may like to sit out in the enclosed rear courtyard and eat al fresco, at breakfast or supper, each equally appealing. In the winter months a cosy living room with gas wood burner is perfect to gather around with a glass of wine in the evening. The kitchen/dining room is by contrast contemporary and is set within a light, bright and airy room. Large picture windows look onto the garden and Velux windows let the light pour in during the day, or allow for star gazing at night.
Richmond is a market town filled with lots of possibilities, whether it be spending a few days taking in the culture and the social side or using it as a base to explore the glorious Yorkshire Dales. Out and about in Richmond you are spoilt for choice. It is the perfect place to amble around its cobbled streets where there are an interesting array of shops, galleries and tea shops. It is famed for its 11th century castle which sits proudly on the skyline and provides a lovely walk whether around the ramparts or riverside. You can walk from one side of this historic town to the other and take in the sights. The last train left Richmond station in 1969 and now the station has been brought back to life and is a bustling centre hosting art and craft exhibitions, a three-screen cinema, café, shops selling interesting jewellery, cards and textiles, an award-winning bakery/delicatessen, micro-brewery and an ice cream parlour. On the same site there is an indoor swimming pool and health club. The Coast to Coast walk passes by the station and through Swaledale with many other walks to be enjoyed.
