Forge House receives glowing praise from guests for its beautiful, spotlessly clean interiors and idyllic village location, making it an ideal base for exploring Yorkshire’s coast and moors. Visitors consistently highlight the cottage’s comfort, high-quality furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. The terrace overlooking the beck and thoughtful touches add to its charm. While a few minor issues are mentioned, such as towel size and occasional noise, the overwhelming feedback is extremely positive, with many guests eager to return and highly recommending the property.
Cleanliness is repeatedly described as 'spotless', 'immaculate', and 'pristine' by numerous guests, with no significant negative comments. Only one review mentions a minor issue with towels, but this does not detract from the overall impression.
The location is universally praised as perfect, central, and picturesque, with easy access to local amenities, walks, and nearby attractions. A single mention of daytime noise in high season is noted, but most guests found the setting peaceful and ideal.
Guests frequently describe the cottage as warm, cosy, and comfortable, with special mention of quality beds and furnishings. One review notes the beds were too soft for their preference, and another mentions small shower cubicles, but these are rare exceptions.
The cottage is consistently described as exceptionally well-equipped, with everything needed for a relaxing stay. High-quality appliances, private parking, and thoughtful amenities are highlighted. Minor suggestions include a larger dining table and simpler TV controls.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs, festive decorations, and excellent communication from the owners. While these gestures are frequently mentioned, it should be noted that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

What an excellently, clean cottage. Ideal location in the village centre. Able to walk to all shops and eateries. Off road private parking great. The streamside terrace was a bonus as we fed the ducks, saw a dipper, kingfisher, squirrel on the bird feeder and a kestrel trying to attack a wood pigeon. Spent a lot of time out there.Made a new friend in Alexa. People always say they will return but we actually will as we have already booked for next year.Thoroughly recommend

The real bonus for this cottage is the terrace overlooking the beck - saw Ducks, Kingfishers and Dippers plus a myriad of small birds - Lovely to sit back with a glass of something and observe.Surprisingly noisy position in high season daytime with traffic junction, busy footbridge and more than a few heavy-duty motorbikes close by.If the doesn't bother you too much, it's a lovely place to stay.

This holiday cottage had everything you need for a self catering holiday plus parking and the location was spot on.The only drawback for us was the beds they were far too soft
