The local pub in Rosedale is approx one mile away, boasting quaint tearooms, a welcoming pub serving hearty home-cooked meals, and a fascinating history tied to the area’s once-thriving ironstone industry. Reaching the cottage is an experience in itself, with winding country lanes guiding you through breathtaking landscapes before arriving at the private road leading to Thorgill Cottages. You’ll have your gravelled parking bay right beside the cottage for convenience.
Inside, Rowan Cottage exudes rustic charm with its terracotta tiled floors and cosy country-style kitchen. A breakfast bar offers the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee, and a stable door leads out onto a private patio with uninterrupted views across the moorland. Here, you can sit and watch wildlife, from soaring birds of prey to grazing deer. Four steps take you down to the living area, where comfortable sofas and a traditional wood burner (display only). A dining table completes this welcoming space, perfect for enjoying home-cooked meals after a day of exploring. Upstairs, the cottage offers two well-presented double bedrooms, each designed to provide a restful night’s sleep. A modern shower room completes the layout.

Fantastic stay, lovely place. Great to unwind and relax. Lots of lovely walks from the door step. Local pub serves great food.Will be back

The cottage was cold. We were not able to adjust the temperature even though we followed the instructions. There were fan heaters around the property which helped a little but were very noisy. The back door was broken and would not open so we had no access to the back garden. There was a lack of information concerning cooker use, switch for hot water, location of waste bins, to name but a few. The shower was difficult to use because the head would not stay in the holder.However the cottage was clean, the bed warm and comfortable and the sofas were comfortable.

Thats a beautiful cottage tucked away and dont expect your phone to work🫣.. which we didnt mind just for a short break( only wifi). Lovely personal touches, thank you. It was our first trip to Yorkshire Dales and we definitely will be back.
