We have enjoyed many happy hours as a family camping out and sitting by the fire pit and Pickering Beck in our 2 acre meadow and wanted to share it with you.

Quirky, vintage glamping, not modern, but a step back in time to when life was simpler, fall asleep to the sounds of Owls and wake up to birdsong and the whistling of steam trains.

We over look the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway Station and are only separated by the Beck; you can see and hear the steam trains pulling in and out.

We love vintage and quirky items, which have character and a history and we love the outdoors, and have had lots of camping experience. Such a unique outdoor glamping experience in an amazing location. There is no where else in Pickering that is in the countryside but so close to the High Street, the location is truly unique and best of both worlds, no need to worry about parking, driving or walking, everything in Pickering is on your door step.

Vintage themed bell tent, with fairy lights, coir matting, rugs, throws, seating, double bed, up two extra camp beds for children, electric oil heater, books, games, your own canvas dining/cooking gazebo with everything you need to cook, eat, drink, camping stove, cool box, utensils etc.

Unique glamping, set in a 2 acre countryside meadow, but just few mins walk from a lovely high street, best of Town & Country. Sorry no dogs allowed in Bell Tent. The price includes 2 adults and up to 2 children up to the age of 16.

Available to book for one night stay Sun to Thurs, weekends min 2 nights stay. Please bring own bedding and towels, pillows and duvet. We provide sheet/mattress topper and throws.

Overlooking the North Yorkshire Moors Railway station, see the steam trains pulling in and out.

We are positioned off any roads down an old carriage track with lots of beautiful walks from the site. Our aim is to offer plenty of outdoor door space in a meadow surrounded by mature trees and runs alongside Pickering Beck, with wildlife.

Good mobile phone signal. If you love quirky, vintage and unique you will love Tin and Canvas. Our Shower Huts are made from vintage salvaged patina zinc, timber and stained glass, our Woo Woo Compost loo in its own unique hut.

Mini glamp circus wagon can be hired to sleep up to 2 older children. There is lots of personal space, no regimented rows.

Please note we are right next to Pickering Beck, in the extreme event there was a risk of flooding we would reimburse any nights lost during your stay. We are signed up to the environment flood warning system. And licensed through the Freedom Camping Club.

If you prefer modern shower and toilet blocks, we may not be for you, as our theme, is vintage, quirky, unique, character.

Neighborhood info

Pickering is the Gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors and Coast. The High Street is a hive of small shops, cafes, bars, pubs. There is a local indoor swimming pool and an open air pool at Helmsley. Beck Isle Museum is well worth a visit at the top of the track. Along with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Station next door, where the tv series is filmed, train rides can be booked dependant on the time of the year, to Whitby, Grosmont, Goathland where Harry Potter was filmed and the TV series Heartbeat. Pickering Castle and woods is well worth exploring. There are lots of lovely walks locally, There are lots of sea side towns to visit, Whitby 30 mins drive over the moors, or take the Old Roman road to Whitby, Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay, Boggle Hole, Ravenscar, Hayburn Wyke, Runswick Bay. Small villages well worth visiting Thornton Le Dale, 2 miles away where Bangers and Cash is filmed at Mattewsons Classic Car Auctions.Hutton Le Hole has a lovely folk museum, Levisham and Lockton are pretty villages, take a walk over Levisham moor to Skelton Tower for the view, Flamingoland Zoo and theme park is 10 minutes drive, York is 45 minutes drive. Lots of local events.
