Sunny Crest is one of four holiday cottages in Hunmanby Gap owned by a local Yorkshire family. Sat in a picturesque cove in the centre of Filey Bay and overlooking miles of golden sands, these cottages provide wonderful sea views and are just perfect for those looking for a romantic seaside break, family beach holiday or a relaxing bird watching getaway. There are also miles of cycle routes and footpaths to explore too!
Step inside and you will find a spacious living room, an excellent place to relax on the deep filled sofas. The electric fire provides additional warmth for the cooler months. French doors lead through to a large conservatory, it is here you will find the dining table which provides plenty of seating for six and views out across the garden to the sea beyond. Head into the kitchen and you will find sleek modern units topped with an aqua blue worktop. It really is rather fetching. There is more than enough worktop space for the chef in the group to rustle up some delicious home cooked meals. You will also find a small breakfast table where you can enjoy an early morning natter over a cup of Yorkshire Tea. The ground floor accommodation is completed with a double room and a house bathroom. The views in Sunny Crest get better as you make your way upstairs. There are a further two bedrooms on the first floor and both rooms are tastefully decorated, have lovely sea views and share a Jack & Jill-style shower room. Outside you will find a wrap-around lawn and patio area with seating. Take a walk down the hill and you will find a quaint café which serves delicious cakes and traditional Yorkshire Tea.
A short drive away is the pretty seaside town of Filey and the harbour port of Scarborough. Both towns offer lovely walks along promenades and a plethora of seaside attractions, tea rooms, restaurants and shops. A visit to rspb Bempton Cliffs is a must whilst staying at The Chalet, or why not travel a little further inland and enjoy the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds. This holiday cottage will leave you with ever lasting memories and is the ideal base for your seaside holiday.

Overall had a nice time at this cottage, could definitely do with the manuals on how to work the coffee machine, oven and hob. Beds were comfy, enough kitchen utensils provided nice, warm and cosy with a lovely view from the top window. However something was certainly not cleaned properly we think the bidet as it’s the only thing the rest of us didn’t touch and my husband started with hand foot and mouth disease during our stay, also when we were tidying up when leaving we noticed dog biscuits on the living room floor, we didn’t take a dog so was definitely not ours

This was our fourth cottage holiday staying in Yorkshire and by some margin the best accommodation overall. It was far from perfect though. It is a miracle we didn't end up with back ache sitting on the saggy 3 piece suite. One of the mattresses was also pretty soft and saggy. The hot tap in the bathroom needs replacing or at least a new washer. There were no instructions for any appliances apart from the oven and hob. The lack of coat hooks in the hall and bathrooms is a common fault. There is a very nice Panasonic hard drive recorder which is not connected to the tv aerial so can only play DVDs.If you can overlook the numerous niggles the location is amazing. Lovely and quiet with the beach just a short (steep) walk away. The house is very spacious and we liked the layout and decor. With a little bit of money spent it could be truly amazing.

Lovely cottage. Everything you could possibly want in the kitchen. Bed are so comfortable ( the one we slept in ) . The rooms through out the cottage are large ,views from upstairs are wonderful. The only draw back is the sink in the bathroom up stairs could do with some unblocker. But that is a minor thing did not affect our holiday
