St Mary's Cottage in Scarborough is praised for its cosy charm, excellent location, and friendly owner. Guests enjoyed the proximity to the beach and town, the comfortable beds, and the cottage's character. Some noted the kitchen's compact size and the property's cleanliness could be improved, but these were minor points in otherwise delightful stays.
Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the cottage clean, especially the bathroom and beds, while others noted areas that could be improved, such as under the couch and the presence of cobwebs. The overall sentiment suggests that cleanliness is satisfactory but with room for enhancement.
The location is highly praised for its convenience, being a short walk from the beach and local attractions. Guests appreciated the quiet street and the ease of access to both North and South Bays, making it an ideal base for exploring Scarborough.
Comfort levels are generally well-regarded, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, particularly with the log burner. However, some guests mentioned the property being snug for larger groups and the kitchen being tight, which slightly affected the comfort score.
Facilities are deemed adequate, with the cottage being well-equipped for guests' needs. The addition of internet was appreciated, especially by those with teenagers. Some guests suggested improvements in kitchen appliances and storage, and a few mentioned the need for maintenance in certain areas.
