Broom House in Scarborough receives high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location near the beach and park. Guests appreciate the well-maintained property, its spaciousness, and the enclosed garden. The welcoming touches from the owner, such as fridge essentials, are noted and cherished.
Reviews consistently mention that Broom House is very clean, with several guests highlighting its spotlessness. This suggests a high level of cleanliness throughout the property.
The property's location is frequently praised for being close to the beach, park, and local amenities, indicating a highly desirable and convenient location for guests.
Guests find the house comfortable, with comfy beds and a homely feel. However, one mention of a bed's springs suggests a slight deduction in the comfort score.
The property is described as well-equipped and maintained, but there are a few minor maintenance issues mentioned, such as a shower head needing tightening and a hob with dials that don't stop, which led to an accident.
The owner's thoughtfulness is appreciated, with mentions of welcome essentials provided upon arrival. While these gestures are warmly received, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Broom House is a wonderful, spacious, detached house with the convenience of a downstairs shower room, overlooking the grounds of Peasholm Park and makes a great base for a family holiday. It has a courtyard to the rear, a lawned garden to the front and sides, both enclosed, and is adjacent to the owners’ home. Two dogs are also welcome.
The property is situated within a short stroll down to the north bay beach or to the popular waterpark with a fun splash pool and wave machine. It is also just across the road from the wonderful Peasholm Park, one of the main attractions of Scarborough, with beautiful gardens and a boating lake. You can hire rowing boats or pedalos, and in the summer months, the lake plays host to a miniature naval warfare battle on the lake, enjoyed by many children of all ages over the years.
The town centre is just a mile away with some excellent bars, restaurants, cafés and shops, as well as the Stephen Joseph Theatre, home to most of Alan Aykbourn’s premiers and well worth visiting. Scarborough boasts two bays, the North Bay and the South Bay, separated by the castle perched on the headland. The Marine Drive runs all the way along both the bays making it a great place for a long leisurely walk along the seafront. The North Bay is the quieter of the two, whereas the South Bay has the traditional seasides amusements, donkey rides and fun fair.
Scarborough is a great base from which to visit the rest of the east coast with Whitby, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay to the north, and Bridlington and Filey with its award winning beach to the south. The rspb bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is a short drive where you can view all the migrating seabirds especially the ever popular puffins. Scarborough has an excellent train service and you can catch direct trains to the medieval city of York, or it’s just an hour’s drive by car. York is voted every year as one of the top 10 cities to visit in the UK. Beach 500 yards. Shop 150 yards, pub 500 yards and restaurant 250 yards.

We have used Broom House previously and we were once more very happy with both the standard and location of the property.

We came here a couple of years ago and tried to book last year, but the house wasn't free for the week we needed. It was like coming home and we love the house so much. It's comfy, clean and very homey. Thank you to the owner for making us feel welcome with the fridge essentials and tea, coffee and biscuits waiting on our arrival. A house with an actual enclosed garden meant we could relax. The beach is a short walk away and the park is just across the road, so perfect for dog walks. Had a fab week. Thank you.
