The sweet kitchen has everything you’ll need for cooking tasty snacks and meals, plus a breakfast table for four, and the dining room is a lovely place in which to linger, boasting a wood-burner-effect gas fire and two armchairs. The lounge boasts a coal-effect gas fire in an ornate surround, and there’s a TV and a DVD to keep you entertained. Head up to the first floor to find two bedrooms: a double and a twin, the latter with one raised bed, as well as a family bathroom. On the top floor, a king-size bedroom is tucked under the eaves: a spacious room with an en-suite shower room and a seating area with a TV. When you’re in search of some fresh air, the rear patio has seating for four people, while a further patio with a BBQ stand and garden furniture for six overlooks the beck below.

Robin Hood’s Bay is renowned for its picture-postcard looks, and you can spend days wandering around its pretty streets, which are dotted with intriguing shops and a variety of places to eat and drink. The beach is dog friendly, and is a great place to go rock pooling or try your hand at fossil hunting. Stretch your legs on the coast path or along the Cinder Track, which takes you 6 miles to Whitby.
