Cottage was lovely, especially the garden, which we all enjoyed. Cottage well equipped, but cooking and serving a meal involved steps when carrying food, and with two rather older people, and one tall whose head hit the lintel, this needed careful negotiation, particularly as the steps had no hand rail. There were delightful walks from the doorstep, all easily negotiated and enjoyed by people and dogs; a meal at The Board in Lealham also enjoyed by us all. Post Office and village shop in Lealham useful and helpful. Trips out to Staithes, Whitby (very crowded), Danby Lodge National Park centre (excellent information, art gallery, cafe, children's area), and coastal walks all much enjoyed.

This cottage has many plus points. There are excellent walks from the door. There is a beautiful garden if you just want to chill. There are several pubs serving good food nearby - notably the Board Inn at Lealholm and the Wheatsheaf at Egton. Everything we needed was available in the property.

Lovely peaceful location and a beautifully equipped cottage with welcoming owners next door . We all loved the garden and the access to the fields and river for lovely walks and paddles. Shops etc required a car but all the local tourist attractions were easily within a shortish drive so long as you don’t mind some narrow and steep roads. Great to have moorland, valleys, villages and seaside all in one area .
