Sleights has a pub, a fish and chip shop, an antique shop, a butcher's, a bakery, a hair salon, and a post office inside a Spar store, despite being a quiet town. The end of the North Yorkshire Steam Railway is only a short drive away, and Sleights is served by frequent public transportation to and from the adjacent port of Whitby. Whitby, which is located at the mouth of the River Esk, is in a prime location for exploring this stunning region of Yorkshire. Each visit brings back memories of the Steam era when we see the engines passing almost at the end of the street! (Hint - you get a better view from the bedroom window! ). A lovely comfortable cottage in a homely environment.. excellent close parking so it only takes a few minutes to unpack.. pleasant local walks in most directions and a Park and Ride about a mile away.. Thank you Alex and Rachel for all your help and kind hospitality.. again!

Everything that we needed (except coffee pods, a minor detail). The Christmas tree was a nice touch! Would definitely recommend this cottage as a great place to stay

A Great place to eat was the Salmon Leap Hotel, good food and drink and really friendly locals. Great walks in the local arera.
