The cottage has undergone a major renovation that has been completed to a very good standard, with tasteful décor and furnishings throughout. There’s also a barbecue area for making the most of the warm weather.
Secluded yet surprisingly close to town, the seaside resort of Whitby is just a few miles away, easily accessible by car or on foot. The town is home to a jam-packed calendar of events which take place all year round, and you can take a tour bus to see the fascinating sites, which include the stunning Abbey and St Mary’s Church high above the cliffs. There are also regular boat cruises that offer a different aspect of the beautiful town from the water. A day trip to Robin Hood’s Bay is a must during your stay at The Hideaway. Just 3 miles away, the bay is full of character and charm, thanks to its cobbled, narrow streets and alleyways lined with an eclectic mix of individually-run shops, pubs and tearooms.
A little closer to home, Hawsker has a warm and cosy local pub that serves local food, and for the outdoorsy types, there’s a disused railway line only a few hundred yards away that stretches some 21 miles from Whitby to Scarborough.
The North York Moors National Park lies just inland from the North Yorkshire coastal resorts of Whitby and Scarborough, with over 1,400 miles of trails, footpaths and bridleways that cobweb the rolling heather-clad moorland and meet in the pretty rural villages and historic country towns. Carving a pathway deep through the North York Moors is the famous North York Moors Steam Railway, which carries its passengers from Pickering in the south northward to Grosmont, and then along the lovely Esk Valley to Whitby on the coast. A little further afield are the rolling hills and picture-perfect river valleys of the Yorkshire Dales. Beach 2 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Quiet cottage, in a good location. There are shops a short drive away and Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are very close by. The cottage had good facilities and was very comfortable. The only minor negative was that the bath is very small for a tall person, but there is a good shower. The owner's were very nice and left a nice basket of food, drink and dog treats. Overall had a lovely stay.

We really our stay. It was probably one of the best equipped Airbnb we have stayed. It is decorated beautifully with many homely touches. The location is great for exploring the area with supermarkets within in easy reach.

Quaint cottage ideally located for the cinder track. We walked in to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay direct from the cottage. Everything was provided. Great outdoor space for chilling and secure for our dog. Lovely welcome hamper which was a nice touch.
