Fabulous, The Ritz in the middle of a busy town it is not, it’s a former barn on a farm in the middle of the country and it’s lovely. Beautiful area, lovely walks, the sea close by what more could you want. The owner is the most lovely person and so friendly and helpful. We really don’t want to leave.

Fantastic host, location and cottage, highly recommended - the swimming pool and gym were worth the extra purchase too.The cottage is very eclectic with a nice mixture of displays and trinkets, the beds were a bit uncomfortable as they're very stiff but if you prefer that then it's great. Great facilities (bathroom, kitchen, lounge) in the cottage. The location is great, very easy to find and in a beautiful valley on the moors (1st gear gets a good workout!); we should have explored it more but ended up out a lot exploring the coast, next time we'd do more walking nearby as there were lots of nice routes through to the village and along the valley.Only 20 minutes from Whitby and the seaside and shops, but very secluded and rural so a perfect mix. The host was lovely and the intro information was very detailed and super helpful. I can't really fault it at all!

This is my second visit to Red House Farm but my first time at The Sheaf Store.Sandra is very welcoming and thinks of every comfort. The Sheaf Store has everything you need for a restful or activity filled week in Yorkshire. I especially love the decor, with the use of farm machinery, ceramic and old train paraphernalia to provide a unique feel. Then swimming pool and gym are excellent there is an extra fee but we did not mind paying that and we had the facility to ourselves when we used it. The Sheaf Store is right on the doorstep of beautiful walks, near to Whitby for town life and to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
