Bed was comfortable and cottage was well equipped. BUT the heating and hot water wasnât working for 4 days (three nights) which required three visits from the owner to get it functioning again. This was inconvenient to say the least as itâs cold this time of year. When I finally managed to have a shower the water went all over, no shower curtain and water overflows. Sofa is also very uncomfortable

Plenty of parking. Comfortable bed. Lovely area ideal for visiting York, Selby and Leeds. Cons: Unable to control the heating which meant it was cold when you needed it. Small fan heater was insufficient for the six of room.It needed a warning advising that the water was very hot. It could not be turned down in the shower and there was a danger of getting burnt. The washing machine rubber was dirty and covered in mildew. We tried to clean it but ended up taking laundry to my son's. On top of that the seating was the most uncomfortable we have ever known. My wife has a back problem and was in agony for most of our stay. The WiFi was weak and disappeared all together when other properties were occupied. Reading the comments book it appears that many if these complaints had been raised previously without any action being taken. A shame as it could have been an amazing stay.
