Guests say

St Hilda’s Rest receives glowing praise for its spacious, well-equipped accommodation, friendly and attentive staff, and excellent location near beautiful coastal walks and villages. Guests particularly appreciate the hot tub, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches throughout the property. The cottage is ideal for large family gatherings and special occasions. While a few minor issues were noted, such as occasional maintenance needs and the layout of the garden and hot tub, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Multiple reviews highlight the property as spotlessly clean and well presented, with only rare minor issues mentioned. The high standard of cleanliness is consistently praised by guests.

The location is frequently described as ideal, with easy access to coastal walks, beaches, and nearby villages. Guests love the peaceful setting and proximity to local attractions.

Guests find the accommodation spacious and comfortable, with particular mention of comfy beds and ample space for large groups. A few minor comments about compact twin rooms and a lumpy mattress were noted but did not detract from the overall comfort.

The property is praised for its excellent facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and private garden. Some minor suggestions for improvement (e.g., kitchen lighting, garden furniture, maintenance of showers) were mentioned but overall satisfaction is very high.

Guests frequently mention thoughtful touches such as welcome packs, biscuits, milk on arrival, and attentive staff. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lovely stay with family and 2 dogs for an 80th birthday celebration. The location proved perfect for us to visit the places from treasured childhood memories. The layout was just right so that we could spend time together whilst cooking, eating or relaxing. We had everything we needed and some lovely touches like leaving us milk when we arrived late needing a cup of tea made such a difference. The hot tub area was an added bonus for a relaxing soak.

We stayed here as a family of 10 and 1 dog for our lovely mum’s 80th birthday. The accommodation was plenty big enough for us and the hot tub was a really lovely touch. The staff were friendly and helpful and we will definitely return. (The only little issue we had was the shower drainage in the downstairs bedroom. This was investigated but I feel it stile needs a good plunge to avoid flooding. Just a heads up on that one 🙂)

Had a week long stay with family of 8 (+dog and baby) The cottage itself was lovely, clean, fully equipped and felt like a home away from home. The little garden a stones throw away from the cottage was lovely and so was being able to get in the hottub! The girls at the complex that work there where absaloutly fantastic, friendly always had a good morning or hello for you, and had some good tips on where to go for the day etc.We will deffinetly be back for another visit, we miss it already!
