Cottage on the Green in York is praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and generous welcome hamper. Guests appreciate its excellent location with easy access to local amenities and York City Centre. The property is well-equipped and offers a private outdoor space. Some guests mention minor issues with maintenance and comfort, but overall experiences are very positive, with many looking forward to returning.
The cottage generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with several guests describing it as 'spotless'. However, a few guests noted areas that could have been cleaned more thoroughly, slightly lowering the score.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to York City Centre, local shops, and pubs. The green and nearby Hobb Moor add to the appeal, making it an excellent base for exploring.
Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a welcoming atmosphere. However, there are comments about an uncomfortable bed and steep stairs, which suggests room for improvement in this area.
The property is well-equipped, with a private yard and a good selection of shops nearby. The mention of a log burner without provided logs and minor maintenance issues slightly affect the score.
The welcome hamper is frequently mentioned and appreciated for its generosity. While this is a positive aspect, it's important to note that such gifts, though delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

This is our 2nd stay at the house. Location is excellent with regular buses into York City Centre and the facilities around Acomb are brilliant. The house is situated in a good position with a nice view across the green. Crooked Tap pub is welcoming and friendly for all ages and for dogs too.The house is good it felt a bit tired this year and cleanliness wasn't bad but there were odd places that hadn't been cleaned sufficiently ie bed and window slats and also under and behind sink in bathroom. Toilet brush needed replacing. The bed is very uncomfortable with a thin mattress and is only a double which is very low to the ground. Sorry. All that said please don't let that put you off I am being very picky. It is a lovely house, in a lovely location. The welcome basket was very generous, thank you.Thank you again for our stay , I would recommend x
