Guests say

Mill House is a beautifully presented cottage in a tranquil village setting, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and charming décor. Guests love the peaceful location, scenic walks, and proximity to a delightful tea room and pub. The hot tub and thoughtful touches add to the experience. While parking and driveway access can be tight, and Wi-Fi is occasionally unreliable, the overall atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. The property is ideal for groups or families seeking a rural escape with modern comforts and picturesque surroundings.

The majority of guests highlight the cottage as exceptionally clean and tidy, with fresh bedding and towels. Only one review mentions a damp smell in the living room, but this is outweighed by consistently positive feedback.

The location is widely praised for its beauty, peace, and access to walks and local attractions. The riverside setting and proximity to a tea room and pub are frequently mentioned as highlights.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as cosy, comfortable, and spacious, with high-quality beds and en-suite bathrooms. The tranquil environment and thoughtful furnishings contribute to a restful stay.

Facilities are generally excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and modern bathrooms. Minor issues include tricky driveway access, occasional Wi-Fi problems, and suggestions for additional items like egg cups, garden parasol, and improved lighting near the hot tub.

Many guests mention welcome packs, fresh bread, and other thoughtful touches, which are greatly appreciated. However, please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Fantastic quality cottage with all the essentials supplied. Wonderful quiet location with a great little tea room/village shop next door, The Owl pub is just up the hill and serves quality food and drinks. My only suggestion to improve the garden would be a small 3 foot perimeter fence for safety reasons to stop easy access to the river for children and dogs.

The Mill House absolutely exceeded our expectations. Honestly, I was a little skeptical when reading the website because it almost sounded too good to be true — but WOW, it did not disappoint. It was every bit as beautiful and amazing as described. We were welcomed with thoughtful touches waiting for us, including fresh bread, tea supplies, and milk in the fridge, which immediately made us feel at home after a long day of travel. The house itself felt newly renovated and was done wonderfully. One thing we especially appreciated was that every bedroom had its own bathroom, which worked perfectly for our group. Our bedroom overlooked the creek, and falling asleep to the sound of the water each night was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We came to Yorkshire to experience the world of “All Creatures Great and Small” and originally struggled to figure out the best area to stay. While this location may have been a little farther from some of the filming sites, it ended up being perfect for us. The drives through the countryside became part of the experience and were absolutely beautiful. The village itself was so quaint and charming. We loved taking evening walks through the countryside enjoying the flowers, sheep, cows, chickens, pheasants, and the peaceful scenery all around us.We are so glad we found this hidden gem of a place to stay. It became a very special part of our England adventure and is somewhere we would happily return to again.
