Maple Cottage is consistently praised for its cosy charm, well-equipped kitchen, and excellent location for exploring North Yorkshire. Guests appreciate the quaint village setting, efficient heating, and the welcoming local pub. The property offers a homely atmosphere with books, music, and a rustic touch, making it a comfortable base for a holiday.
Most guests found Maple Cottage to be spotlessly clean and comfortable. However, one incident of the property not being ready upon arrival slightly affects the score, but the owners' responsive actions and thorough cleaning afterwards show commitment to maintaining high standards.
The cottage is highly regarded for its picturesque and quiet village location, with easy access to local attractions and beautiful countryside. The presence of a friendly local pub adds to the appeal, although the absence of a shop in the village is noted.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with efficient heating and a powerful shower. Some older guests mentioned the stairs being a bit steep and seating a bit low, which suggests the cottage may not be as comfortable for those with mobility issues.
The cottage is well-equipped for self-catering, with a fully equipped kitchen and additional amenities like books and DVDs. The efficient heating and shower are appreciated, although there is a mention of a small double bed and a minor issue with noise from the road.
While guests mention a welcome pack and a well-prepared information file, there are not enough references to specific thoughtful gestures or gifts to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such amenities, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Stayed between October 10th to October 17th.This was one of the most unique and quirky cottages we have stayed in. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and more. The welcome pack was a nice added surprise. Shower was nice and powerful. Communication with Susan and Philip was excellent throughout the whole stay. A good central location to everywhere we planned to go. Would highly recommend this quaint little cottage and we'd love to return. Thank you Mark & Vickie

Beautifully quaint cottage in the Yorkshire countryside. Excellent location with easy acces to York and the Moors. Excellent information folder that the owners had left for us to navigate the house and local amenities! All in all, a wonderful stay and I would definitely return (also we absolutely loved the cuckoo clock! )
