Location was excellent for exploring York and the surrounding areas. Property was easy to find but having to put a code in to raise the barrier became more annoying when you have to get out of the car on the way in (especially in the rain!). Living room was spacious enough but needs a thorough clean - we found half chewed dog biscuits between the sofa cushions and dirty floors! Kitchen could be better equipped - no casserole type dish and only one wine glass!?... Only a couple of small saucepans/frying pans which all needed washing up before we could use them as they were dirty. So it seems they do not expect people to do much cooking and no hope if you had 4 people staying. Plenty of crockery/cutlery, however. Also no door mat or bath mat so hard to keep the floors clean/dry after showering, coming in from the hot tub or just from the rain. Bedrooms are cramped just because of the style of property but not a deal breaker. Stupid plastic covers on the TV's very annoying especially the one in the living room which was very scratched and dirty and distorts the picture unless you are sitting straight on (i.e if sat at the dining table - forget it!).Also, no instructions regarding recycling and controls for the heating were locked away so we had no heat on the cold rainy days we were there.Hot tub was great and easy to use but could have used some hooks on the fence to hang towels/robes.We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday especially the days using the Park and Ride to go into York and would highly recommend the 'York Pass' as you can make huge savings if you are looking to do a few of the main tourist attractions!
