Brookleigh is a well-loved cottage praised for its superb location, comfortable beds, and homely feel. Guests enjoy the picturesque village, the welcoming pub, and the property's proximity to local attractions. The large garden and the inclusion of books and toys are appreciated, making it a cosy retreat for both families and pets.
The cleanliness of the property has received mixed feedback. While some guests found it clean and comfortable, others noted issues with dust, dirt, and maintenance concerns such as mould and bird droppings, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience. Guests love the picturesque village of Hutton le Hole, the easy access to the North Yorkshire Moors, and the proximity to both the coast and York. The views and local amenities contribute to a delightful stay.
Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the cottage warm and inviting. However, some guests mentioned that certain beds were not as comfortable and that the cottage could be warmer, indicating some variability in comfort experiences.
Facilities are appreciated, such as the open fire and well-equipped kitchen, but some guests reported issues with maintenance, such as inadequate lighting, lack of bathroom extractor, and minor repairs needed. The feedback suggests that while the facilities are good, there is a need for attention to detail and updates.
While some guests mentioned a welcoming tray and flowers, there is insufficient information to determine the consistency of such gestures. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such thoughtful touches are a standard offering for all stays.

It's recently been decorated and furniture renewed in keeping with the style of the property. The location and the view is second to none. We will look forward to booking for next year. Richard and Julie.

The house was very very dirty and Dusty in every room. The bedroom room furniture in one double room was appalling, it was old dirty and smelly, the bed was so old with thick dust under it, the rug was old and like a rag. The bathroom was disgusting, bath scratched, dirty and smelly. Windows through out the house were filthy. The hoover full of dirt to the top, hair all wrapped around the brush head, that hadn't been used for months. My husband had to clean it all out so we could use it to clean the place up. The back garden was awful , very dangerous and boxes of rubbish laying about that hadn't been put out for the dustbin collection for weeks, wheelie bins outside were full when we arrived and smelt really bad. I have stayed in hundreds off cottages but none in this condition before. I personally think it needs one hell of a deep clean. Where the cottage is situated is brilliant and looks lovely until you walk through the door. We couldn't open any of the windows because they had been painted over so you couldn't open them. I hope that this will be looked into and that you will get back to me. I know that people had complained about the cottage as we were told my people in the actual village. We paid good money to stay there and we were so disappointed.
