About this property

Lamb Cottage is a spacious three-bedroom house in Ballycastle, recognised as the best place to live in 2022 in Northern Ireland, and is the perfect place to come if you want to spend some quality time with your loved ones. The house is sleek, bright, and airy, and has all amenities for a self-catered stay while boasting tremendous views across the Atlantic Ocean, The Mull of Kintryre, and RathlinIsland, whilst within easy reach of the local town and beach, making it ideal for families, couples or groups of friends looking for a relaxing break away; the property welcomes up to eight guests. Inside, the first-floor open-plan living space gives the house a spacious and calm ambience, with large windows overlooking Ballycastle and the Causeway coastline, Velux windows, and a kitchen with all the appliances you could need, including a handy dishwasher. The sitting area is kitted out with a wood-burning stove and a Smart TV, perfect for cosying up in the chillier evenings after a day of exploring. Completing the space is the dining area, fit for enjoying a home-cooked meal or just planning an adventurous day. From here, the family bathroom has a shower over the bath for a quick freshen up, along with a bathtub for soaking your muscles. When sleep calls, all three bedrooms are furnished with a magnificent king-size bed where you can catch your rest, along with an additional double sofa bed in the sitting room; the first bedroom is on the ground floor and has an en-suite shower room, providing you with a relaxing morning getting ready in style, while the second- and third-bedrooms rests on the first floor. Finishing off the interior is the utility room, fitted with a washing machine and a tumble dryer, so you can keep your clothes and towels fresh throughout your stay. Outside, the property has a beautiful garden with a lush lawn and a patio for outdoor dining; dine alfresco in the warmer months while you take in the expansive views from this elevated position. Venture into the local town, Ballycastle, for a meal out with loved ones, where there's a good variety of eateries and pubs to choose from, as well as shops to stock up on ingredients to cook at home. For a day out, step back in time to the days of the Vikings and the Normans at Kinbane Castle, survey the coastline from the Bonamargy Friary, golfers can tee off at the Ballycastle Golf Club, or you can immerse yourself in the history of Ballycastle at the Ballycastle Museum. For a peaceful walk and a picnic, why not make your way to The Dark Hedges, an 18th-century avenue lined with intertwined beech trees, making for an idyllic wander. If you prefer time by the seaside, follow the coast and stop off at the quaint harbours, Portbradden and Ballintoy, before settling at Giant's Causeway, a picture-perfect nature reserve the whole family can enjoy. Make memories with loved ones at Lamb Cottage.

The Sunday Times ranked Ballycastle the greatest location to live in Northern Ireland in 2016. On a clear day, you can see Scotland's Mull of Kintyre and Rathlin Island from Antrim. Ballycastle's seashore is beautiful in either direction. The community has a golf course, Blue Flag beach, shops, and restaurants. Visit Fair Head, Murlough Bay, and Kinbane Castle. Ballycastle is convenient to Portrush, the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Bushmills Distillery, and Belfast.

Lamb cottage itself is amazing , clean, spacious, and well equipped, I have just 2 tiny gripes, the information on lamb cottage says enclosed garden, sorry but no, there is a 10 foot gap in the wall where you drive in without a gate, also, you need to take your own cleaning supplies because none are provided, but apart from these small things I am looking forward to going back again soon, a fabulous holiday in a beautiful setting and house

With very peaceful surroundings. Close to all amenities a great small town and a beautiful beach. The cottage itself has everything you need and is very well maintained. Clean and very comfortable. This will not be my last visit.
