This Mesolithic site is believed to have been inhabited from as long ago as 7700- 7400BC. Visitors to Mountsandel Wood can enjoy a circular walk within the woodland and there is a commanding view of the town from the summit of Mountsandel Fort, which is thought to date to the Anglo-Norman period. Coleraine is close to the bustling towns of Portrush and Portstewart (known as The Triangle), both with busy nightlife. The incredible city of Derry/Londonderry is also within easy driving distance.
