We had a great week staying at this cottage and we even got in earlier than expected which was a bonus for us as we arruved earlier than expected.. Plenty of space for all the family the the enclosed garden was great for our dog. Ideal location for us as we were able to go out and visit family and friends in the surrounding area. Kids loved the walks around the grounds as did our dog. So peaceful and quiet and the views from our walks was beautiful. Lovely local shops in Alford and the butchers is wonderful. We also went out for a family meal at the local restaurant, meal was lovely and we had it to ourselves as there was 14 of us. Also loved the information pack thats in the cottage really well thought of if you don't know the area. All in all fab week away for a much needed reset and recharge

Well appointed in a peaceful location. Good for exploring locally or further afield. Full central heating, but log burner made it extra-cosy

The cottage was in a quiet, peaceful location but not too far from local amenities. Lovely secure garden for our two dogs and plenty of walks from the door. Lots of NT properties to visit and a great little tea room in New Abbey which is worth a visit. The directions for finding the cottage could be better. If you arrive from Aberdeen direction the white fencing that is mentioned can't be seen until you've gone passed and turned around! Arriving from Alford it's no problem. There's a couple of things that would be useful to know about that could be added to info on the website. The track up to the cottage is quite long and very rough/bumpy. Ok for SUV but take care if you have a low slung car. Also as mentioned in a previous review there are conflicting arrival/departure times. Info at the cottage is arrival 3pm (not 5pm) and departure 10am (not 9am).Having said all that we would definitely recommend dairy cottage if you're looking for a lovely place in a peaceful location.
