We had an amazing week with my elderly mum in Scotland taking her to places from our child hood memories and hers and it was a great base location for getting to all the places we wanted to visit The cottage was brilliant and well suited for our needs with mums bedroom to be downstairs the main bedroom and ensuite was ideal The cottage had such character and it looked fantastic as we pulled up and the peace and quiet on the estate was very relaxing The cottage it's self was very well equipped and had everything you needed and the log burner was fantastic on an evening very cosy and it's was exceptionally clean when we arrived We enjoyed playing board games provided on a night which was a nice touch In the area there were plenty of walks and lots of wildlife around the cottage A couple of bits that would improve it a couple of the mattresses on the single beds were very uncomfortable and some kind of picnic bench or some form of outdoor furniture to dine at in the self contained garden would have been great to sit out Locally there were some shops co-op was well stocked with everything we needed and local Chinese in Alford was a really nice place for a takeaway All in all it was a brilliant stay and we made some lasting memories with mum/nan so thanks for the opportunity to stay here and we would definitely visit again
