Dozens of scenic walking and cycling paths weave through ancient woodlands rich in wildlife, from red squirrels to otters and Red Kites. Just a mile from the estate lies the picturesque village of Edzell, home to traditional pubs, charming tearooms, and the 16th-century Edzell Castle with its tranquil walled gardens. Keen hikers can head for Mount Keen, the most easterly Munro, while golfers are spoilt for choice; Edzell Golf Club is nearby, and championship courses like Carnoustie and Montrose are within easy reach. Amazing place to stay , clean and comfortable, amenities far and wide but lovely walks , plenty of ruins and castles to see throughly enjoyed ourselves for the week and would go again

On arrival we noticed no outdoor seating. We contacted owner and a table and 2 chairs arrived next day with complimentary wine and cake. The cottage is new and still needs a few tweaks to make it better. No wardrobes, no dishwasher as advertised, no info on how to use facilities, cooker etc. Busy road next to cottage but garden enclosed. Windows in living room don't open as painted over. I am sure these small teething problems will be resolved in time as owner very helpful and lovely grounds to walk around estate. Sorry to be negative but giving an honest review.
