Lovely annex, very well stocked with everything you need. The owners are next door and very approachable if any issues. Welcome pack of home baked Victoria sponge, wine, eggs, butter and milk very much appreciated. Good location for visiting lots of lovely harbours/ towns.

My wife and I have just returned from another wonderful family holiday, and once again we had such a lovely stay at Sheildaig Cottage Annex. We have stayed here several times now, and it always feels like a real home from home. The annex is only four minutes from St Cyrus and has beautiful views across the fields towards the village and the sea. Mo and Alister are such warm, friendly, and helpful hosts, and they keep the annex spotless, comfortable, and incredibly well equipped. The kitchen-diner has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay, the upstairs lounge is a lovely place to unwind, and outside there is a patio, a nearby barbecue, and a beautiful garden to enjoy.St Cyrus is very handy for essentials, with a mini supermarket in the village, and Montrose is only 10–15 minutes away if you need a bigger choice of shops and supermarkets such as Tesco and Aldi. One of the real highlights is the beautiful long sandy beach and dunes, which are only five minutes away. It is perfect for a lovely walk, especially if you have a dog. The area is part of a National Nature Reserve, and dogs should be kept on a lead from April to September, except on the beach. There is also so much to explore nearby. Stonehaven is only a 25-minute drive away, and the annex is ideally located close to the A90 for easy trips north to Aberdeen. The Aberdeen bypass also opens up the heart of Aberdeenshire, and if you enjoy scenic drives, the Cairn O’Mount road is a fantastic route to Banchory, Potarch, Balmoral, Ballater, and beyond. If you are bringing a dog, the Blue Door route just outside Edzell is another lovely walk. We also really enjoyed the Mill of Benholm, just 12 minutes away, which is perfect for a café lunch with outdoor seating. Dog friendly, you can view the Mill (which has been restored) and take your dog on a short walk around it.
