Situated next to, but private from its neighbour The Steading (UK5834), each can be booked together to accommodate families or couples, and each is lovingly furnished, enjoying the same attention to detail. Located just 4 miles from the centre of Montrose and a couple of miles from the nearest shop and pub, there is plenty to discover in the area. Glorious sandy beaches in Montrose, Lunan Bay or St Cyrus are wonderful for bracing walks or playing in the sand.
Montrose Basin is a renowned nature reserve and wildlife centre and in the winter, thousands of pink-footed geese make a spectacular sight taking off in the early morning to feed in the surrounding countryside. Away from the coast are the Angus Glens which form the foothills of the Grampian Mountains, with myriad walks and trails to be discovered. Golf, tennis and a leisure pool are in the town itself, or further afield the cities of Dundee and Aberdeen are almost equidistant and have plenty of shops, eateries and theatres for an alternative day out. Beach 3 miles. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 2½ miles.

Absolutely loved our stay. Local contact Iain was very responsive and so helpful. The place is just like in the photos. There are loads of local walks to take your dog. The heating in the cabin keeps the whole place really warm! The hot tub was amazing and very easy to use. If you are bringing a dog, it is posible for escape artist dogs to easily get out through a few gaps and the fence isn't 6ft all around, but for our dog that wasn't an isue. Amazing little holiday Cabin. highly highly recommend it!

The shepherd's hut was lovely, great decor and felt very spacious with all the light well placed windows. Loved the view, even with the mist. We came for a well needed rest and spent plenty of time in the hot tub, which was great fun even when it rained. The prosecco and chocolates were a lovely touch on arrival. Thank you

I had a beautiful and peaceful stay at The Sheperd's Hut. The location was easy to acces, and the host was incredibly helpful in guiding me when I arrived late, which I really appreciated. The nature surrounding the cottage is stunning and perfect for dog walkers so quiet, relaxing, and enjoyable. The facilities were excellent and very clean, and the hot tub was such a lovely bonus to unwind in. I enjoyed my stay very much and would happily recommend this place to everyone looking for a peaceful getaway in nature.
