About this property

With a stunning open plan living area downstairs and 9 bedrooms sleeping up to 22 guests upstairs, Ormidale Mill House is perfect for accommodating large groups of families and friends. This lovingly restored property also has a hot tub and shared access to an indoor heated swimming pool. It sits on a 22 acre estate on the Cowal Peninsula in south west Scotland. Ormidale Mill House has been recently renovated and restored to provide stunning accommodation for up to 22 guests on the Argyll estate on the Cowal Peninsula. The original exposed stone walls, natural riven slate tiles and underfloor heating on the ground floor is just one example of how the owners have perfectly combined the original character and charm with modern day comforts in this old mill house. The impressive open plan living space comprises of a contemporary kitchen, dining space with a vaulted ceiling, and a comfortable seating area with an open fire. If you need to escape to a quiet corner you can retreat to one of the separate living areas whilst the kids can enjoy their own space in the play room. With two terraces outside, a hot tub and your own private garden there is also plenty of outside space to rest and relax. Guests are also welcome to explore the 22 area estate and make use of the heated indoor swimming pool, games room, tennis court and football pitch.

Located just one and a half hours from Glasgow, Ormidale Mill House is far enough away to feel as if you have escaped the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet close enough to major transport links for a long weekend away. The estate is surrounded by Forestry Commission owned forests - perfect for a gentle afternoon walk or a kids game of hide and seek. Keen mountaineers might like to head a little further afield to the rugged peaks of the Arrochar Alps (don't miss to trip to the gin distillery whilst you are here) or enjoy a leisurely cruise on one of the famous lochs. Green fingered enthusiasts might like to visit the Benmore Botanic Garden or watersports fans can have a go at sailing at Tighnabruaich.

However you decide to spend your days, Ormidale Mill House is the perfect base to return 'home' at the end of your day. If you are looking for somewhere to host a larger group of people Ormidale House (sleeps 35), Old Barn (sleeps 16) and Garden Cottage (sleeps 4) are also available to rent on the same estate.
